Before this adorable couple was photographed in an open field full of open hearts for their engagement, Micaela and Tom met in a business class at Earlham College. They were paired in a group together. Miceala was in a relationship, but definitely found Tom cute. Having given off what she calls “nerdy, shy girl vibes” she had no idea that Tom ALSO thought she was cute! Luckily, a year or so later, Tom was still thinking about Micaela and he decided to message her on social media. Little did they know when he messaged her for a date that they would end up dating and becoming best friends.

Their wedding with casual and bohemian summer night vibes is later this weekend at The Wilds Wedding and Events Venue. Micaela and Tom are stoked to marry each other but also, “Spending time with our friends and family! Having our wedding party and close family there with us means so much. These people have been such guiding forces for us and we couldn’t imagine life without them. We can’t wait to dance the night away!” Dance away they will with Complete Weddings Indy on the job! We are so excited for Micaela and Tom, with all their “Covid Planning” time, this has been a long time coming and they deserve the best! Read on for their engagement story to hear about their jam packed engagement day! Cheers to the future Reas!

Engagement Story

Thomas planned a day full of fun fall activities (it’s always been their favorite part of the year) – beginning with a 5K “pumpkin” run in the morning followed by a trip to Newfields. Miceala would love to say the whole day was surprise, but she had a hunch by how intentional Thomas was being in making sure she could take a day off of studying that something was up. He popped the question during a photo they were taking together and of course,  Micaela cried. “I can’t tell you anything he said during the proposal – I just said yes!” – Micaela

They followed up Newfields with sushi at their favorite spot in Broad Ripple. Tom surprised her with an engagement party with both of their families at their house after. “It was a perfect day full of the things and people we both love.”

Wedding Advice From The Couple

“Use wedding planning as a growth experience as a couple – it’s a time when you have to work together, budget money, and stick to your guns. There will definitely be a lot of opinions thrown your way, but staying true to how you both want the day to go is so worth it. Oh ya – and GET A PLANNER. We could not have done this without Amanda Lynn!!” -Micaela and Tom, July 24th to-be-weds.
